چکیده

Abstract To train, evaluate, and validate the application of a deep learning framework in three-dimensional ultrasound (3D US) for automatic segmentation ventricular volume preterm infants with post haemorrhagic dilatation (PHVD). We trained 2D convolutional neural network (CNN) from 3D US PHVD. The method was validated Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) intra-class (ICC) compared to manual segmentation. mean birth weight included patients 1233.1 g (SD 309.4) gestational age 28.1 weeks 1.6). A total 152 serial 10 PHVD were analysed. 230 ventricles manually segmented. Of these, 108 used training CNN 122 validating methodology global agreement versus automated measures validation data (n = 122) excellent an ICC 0.944 (0.874–0.971). 0.8 (± 0.01). based estimation through software developed improves accuracy reduces processing time needed using VOCAL. should be considered promising tool help deepen our current understanding complex evolution

haemorrhagic ventricular dilatation in newborn infants

Post haemorrhagic ventricular dilatation occurs in a minority of newborn infants, but is associated with a high risk of cerebral palsy and developmental delay. Neither the relation of ventricular size to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure, nor the effect of CSF removal on prognosis, have been established. Normal CSF pressure measured at subarachnoid cannulation was mean (SD) 2-8 (1.4) mm Hg. Va...

The Association of Mean Platelet Volume with Intra Ventricular Hemorrhage and Broncho Pulmonary Dysplasia in Preterm Infants

Background Interventricular hemorrhage (IVH) and Broncho pulmonary dysplasia(BPD) commonly occur in premature infants and they associate with platelet dysfunction. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of MPV and occurrence of IVH and BPD. Materials and methods In this cross sectional study, 3 groups including IVH, BPD and control were compared. All participants were...

A longitudinal study of post-haemorrhagic ventricular dilatation in the newborn.

Two hundred and two consecutive admissions to a regional neonatal unit were scanned by real-time ultrasound. Sixty-eight (34%) infants had intracranial haemorrhage, 39 (57%) of whom were scanned repeatedly until they were at least 30 days old. Fifteen infants showed some degree of ventricular dilatation. Four had transient dilatation with complete recovery without any form of treatment (group 1...

Intracranial pressure and cerebral blood flow velocity in preterm infants with posthaemorrhagic ventricular dilatation.

AIM To determine the volume of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that should be tapped in preterm infants with posthaemorrhagic ventricular dilatation as guided by intracranial pressure (ICP) and cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV). METHODS The total number of measurements was 106 in 22 infants. Birth weights ranged from 630 to 2050 g, gestational age from 24.5 to 30.3 weeks, and age at insertion fro...
